DIG JAZZ
In English: "It is supreme music, that testifies both dedication and breadth of expression, and is brilliantly performed...makes one think just as much of Monk and an early Keith Jarrett as gospel and dub." DIG JAZZ

Another piano trio? Forget it, this is actually a band. A tightly knit unit that takes every opportunity to celebrate life and imagination, rather than getting stuck in intellectual concepts. A live performance with Landæus Trio is typically fun and unpretentious, yet in the music there is a sophistication and brutal honesty at the core. While there is a lot of stylistic variation, there is never any question that these musicians have a deeply rooted understanding of the jazz idiom. The band is based in the Copenhagen/Malmö area of southern Sweden and Denmark and performs mostly originals from the songbook of Mathias Landæus, who has written over 200 tunes. Landæus Trio has tour support by the Swedish Arts Council.
